Position Requirements

We are seeking a qualified and committed Tutor of Woodwind to join our Performance Music Team. Applicants must be fluent English speaking graduates and hold a bachelors degree in Music.

The successful candidate should be able to offer the tuition of Flute, Clarinet and Saxophone to all levels. Experience of teaching and preparing students for ABRSM examinations at all grades, including Diploma level, is essential. Experience of working with young musicians and ensembles is required.

The successful candidate would be expected to:  

  • Provide one to one and small group tuition
  • Lead the school Wind Ensembles'
  • Support school performances, events and competitions  
  • Contribute to extra-curricular activities and support the wider school community
  • Prepare students for domestic & international competitions
  • Accompany students on piano (an advantage)

Safeguarding

Prospective candidates should submit the details of at least two previous employers as referees which must be their two most recent employers, covering a minimum of four years of employment, or all of their employment if the candidate has less than four years of experience.

If a candidate has only one previous employer, two references can be provided from the same employer.

For candidates in a school where the line manager is providing a reference, the reference must be countersigned by the Head Teacher or Principal.

All successful applicants will be required to undergo an enhanced criminal background check and must provide a detailed residential history for the last ten (10) years.
